iOS 12.1 beta and more
The third developer beta from iOS 12.1 is now available for download. This will be the first major update after iOS 12 has appeared. We expect that this will mainly contain functions that have not been achieved in iOS 12 . One thing is in any case: group conversations in FaceTime. The second beta also solves the previously observed charging problem.
The final version of iOS 12.1 is expected at the end of October 2018 , possibly between 22 and 24 October. In previous years, the x.1 versions also appeared in the same period. At that time, the new iPads should also be available. On October 26, the iPhone XR will also appear , although no separate iOS update will be required.

- Resolves charging problem with iPhone XS (Max).
- New Apple Watch dial Color : single color (round or full screen on the Series 4).
- Group Facetime is back (added in iOS 12.1 Beta 1)
- Support for eSIM (added in iOS 12.1 Beta 1)
iOS 12.1 Beta instructions in the code
These discoveries in the code point to upcoming functions, but are not yet officially included:
- Face ID landscape , intended for upcoming iPad Pros (Beta 1).
- Synchronize Memoji (Beta 1).
- Directions for new iPad Pros (Beta 1).
When iOS 12.1 Public Beta?
The first public beta of iOS 12.1 is now available. So you can install it now if you want to try the innovations early.
Download iOS 12.1 beta
If you are a developer, you can download the required beta profile via the developer website and then install the beta. The iOS 12.1 beta download is available for the iPhone(from iPhone 5s) and iPad (from iPad Air). If you used earlier beta's from iOS 11 , you will first have to delete your 'old' iOS 11 beta profile.
Please note: these betas are only intended for developers and are not suitable for use on devices that you need on a daily basis.

About testing beta's
When testing beta's you can often run into problems. First of all, not all functions are usually immediately available, but they are added and expanded during the test period. You can also suffer from stalking or some apps can not work properly yet. So keep this in mind if you decide to test an iOS update.
It is therefore not recommended to install a beta on a device that you use every day, because there are still many problems in the beta. You can read more about problems with the iOS 12 betas in the article below.
