The choice of iPhone storage you been doing when you buy a new iPhone , because the storage unit is not expanding at a later date. Analysts at Citi Research set up a new report that more and more buyers prefer to be safe than sorry and immediately opt for maximum storage.
More often opted for more storage
With the iPhone XS storage you have the choice for the first time from 64GB, 256GB and no less than 512GB. For more storage you also pay a higher price and that ensures that the average sales price of a sold iPhone continues to increase. For every upgrade in storage, you pay € 170 or € 230 extra, while the cost price for Apple is stuck on a few bucks. So Apple earns a lot of extra storage.
The analyst concludes that, at least among the early buyers, there is often a choice for more storage. You often see this trend coming back: the so-called early adopters who buy the latest iPhone every year use their device most intensively and therefore have the most need for a lot of storage.
People who only buy a new iPhone as soon as their contract expires, choose the lowest storage quantity more often, because that is often more than enough. Because of the higher average selling price, the analysts adjust Apple 's expected share price from $ 230 to $ 265.
You can buy an iPhone XS from € 1.159 and get the basic model with 64GB storage. If you want 512GB, you have lost € 1,559. We also see that price difference with the larger XS Max. If you want to buy the iPhone XS Max with 512GB, it costs you € 1.659. Soon you can also buy the iPhone XR which is priced much lower. You pay € 859 for 64GB up to € 1,029 for 256GB. The iPhone XR pre-order starts on October 19th.
We are curious how that is with you. Do you often opt for the highest storage capacity or is the standard amount of 64GB for you more than sufficient?
